Tips for planning your trip around the world

5 tips that make planning your world trip easier

Our world tour plans, I underestimated a little. I thought 'fun” we will go around the world for two years and we will be surprised by everything we will encounter along the way.

This is a bit of the South American mentality, Just do it and there is not too much to think about. But unfortunately it works in practice quite different (especially if you are married to a Dutch).

He wants to know where it stands and what risks they can already avoid. Now, the scenario suddenly changed, we just need to bake to arrange things on time, well prepare as well I must also exercise my spiritual journey to Santiago de Compostela. HELP! I see the trees for the forest anymore. No one ever told me was getting too hard work and this is only the beginning.

Only my sense of direction now indicates that this in any direction can, but want to know about how a world can best address for those who really everything, in this our tips for planning your trip around the world. this summit 5 I made with help from friends, family, experienced travelers and the internet 🙂 of course.

Tip 1 route determination

To begin with, you have to determine the route of your world trip. So grab a pen and paper and write wishes on where to go other countries (dream trips). You will want to see the world, every city, village, beach, desert, all mountain. But soon you'll be out that this is not realistic and that you need to delete a lot.

Don’t worry, you're going to make a route will go to the places you crave and find that quantity gives way to quality.

In addition to determining your route you should also take into account the security of the countries where you want to go and the best time to travel.

It is not easy but eventually your dream trip begins to take shape.

Warning: Do not go looking in advance to the TV program: "Scammers abroad" because you dare nowhere to go. But perhaps should be deprived just at your travel experience, though I hope I deeply my heart that it does not happen.

Tip 2 The budget

It would be so great if I could skip this step, but unfortunately money is needed in today's society. You do not have to wait until you've won the lottery to travel around the world, savings but you do need.

The following aspects play an important role in drawing up your budget:

  • destinations (you have expensive countries and cheap countries)
  • How long you travel (6 months, 1 years or longer)
  • How would you like to travel (fly, walk, bus, train, metro, hitchhiking), we will try everything.
  • Where to sleep (hotels, hostels, house, B&B, camper, tent, with friends, home exchange)
  • What and where to eat (chic restaurants, known food chain, self catering, simple restaurants, at the premises home)
  • How confident would you like to travel (additional insurances or only what is truly necessary)
  • Your running costs at home
  • excursions (everywhere want to do unique activities). Here I would not cut, because how often do you get these special places? probably never.
  • An extra jar in hand for your unforeseen costs.

Tip 3 Transport

Once you have identified your itinerary and your budget is drawn up, then it's time to book tickets. Find tickets is not my hobby, I can tell you already. But if you make it work, are your efforts rewarded with hard cash. So take the time to compare and compare again.

Tip 4 Documentation & vaccinations

This list will help you to settle in time all the necessary documents and vaccinations.

√ Valid passport minimum 6 months

√ Necessary visas

√ Insurance with world coverage

√ Passport photos (the additional necessary visas)

√ International driving license

√ pilot license (only for pilots among us)

√ Copy of all documents and a digital version

√ Tickets & vouchers (as far as needed) nowadays everything can be done digitally 🙂

√ Necessary medicines and vaccines. Forget your yellow booklet not!

Tip 5 Accommodation and Excursions

A good night's sleep is important all over the world and even more important if you are going long journey.

Therefore picking out a good accommodation is a must. I prefer to take my own bed with, but unfortunately it is not. So I'll have to get used the next time to all types of beds, scents, sounds, and not to hope unpleasant guests.

Bed and breakfast accommodations are small and cozy, recently I prefer a B&B above a luxury hotel. But at the time you pamper yourself in a four or five star hotel is lovely.

Alternating accommodations make your trip richer, but also your wallet. Because if you just go to sleep in luxury hotels, it is a short trip. Unless you're on the go will find a job that pays well or elsewhere find financial support. Since we want to stay within our budget, we will experience all kinds of accommodations. The reviews I will later go with you here share.

In addition to your accommodation, excursions are also a particular matter where you still have to take your time and rest, especially if you want to get the most out of your trip. Often you focus on the excursions that other travelers have done or what advice the agency, but you must see tour if "your" adventures. If you do not water then you should not go canoeing in New Zealand. Cutting back on excursions is not recommended and very harmful to your travel experience 🙂

Of course you can always pull your wallet open to do things you would not normally do, such as a helicopter flight over the powerful waterfalls of Foz do Iguazu, which is worth a wonderful experience and every euro, but my advice is to make a combination of expensive and free activities.

Admire a sunset over a mountain, swim on a private beach in the Bahamas, listening to the crickets serenade giving, birds or wildlife watching. These are some examples of activities that are priceless and often don't cost a penny.
