Read rituals

Besides traveling, photograph, write, Collecting shoes and daydreaming was reading one of my favorite things. I read not just one book. Nee, I have my regular reading rituals, and which ones you read more here.

My passion for reading I have to thank my Spanish teacher in high school. She was so excited about books that it was impossible not to get infected with the virus reading. I'd give everyone his teacher, because as the famous quote says:

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” Dr. Seuss.

This quote says it all, yet I am captured after high school by a closet that was not my bookcase: the TV. Until a few years ago when I got hold of a book by my favorite writer by accident and then read the virus was reactivated. I hope this time for the rest of my life.

But to keep the reading virus lifelong active I need my reading rituals. Otherwise I could just kill in the modern temptations of time trial and deny myself the chance to learn new things, to learn and explore the many new places.

my essential reading rituals:

❤️ I'm never going to leave home without a book / phone. At home I have a lot of physical books, but travel are e-books simply more convenient.

❤️ Wait Moments are the best moments to read. Consider waiting for the train, bus, metro, plane, dentist and everywhere you have to queue.

❤️ Unfortunately I suffer from car- and seasickness but fortunately there are audiobooks enjoyable make my trips.

❤️ I prefer qualiteit above quantiteit. Rather read fewer books than many books with little content.

❤️ Recently I try books that would initially not my preference but in content provide me knowledge and new insights.

❤️ I reserve one hour daily for reading.

❤️ Traveling I visit libraries and old bookstores purely for connecting with real books. In my digital world I need this link.

❤️ I give away or leave read books to infect as many people as possible with my reading virus.

❤️ I do not follow trends more book. I read what attracts my attention and what feeds my soul. So even children's books and fantasy stories :).
