The world adventure has started

The world adventure has started. Last week, we left Madrid, with a smile and a lot of great memories. The city is fantastic, but the people who crossed our path and took the time to get to know us better were actually the best part of our Spanish adventure. This proves that as humans we want nothing more than to be connected to others.

On the way home we made a stop in Paris to visit a friend and together while enjoying a good French wine and many delicacies we were able to think back on our time in Madrid..

It felt strange driving home again, as if the holidays were over, the feeling of relaxation soon gave way to excitement and curiosity. What would it be like at home?? With family, friends and everything that was our home a few months ago? Jesus, it sounds like I've been away for years (in my opinion), but it's only been a few months. So not that much will have changed after all. And indeed everything looks the same. The roads are so nice and tidy, the houses neatly lined up and people rushing on their bikes with disheveled haircuts due to the strong headwind. This image changed the pleasant chaos of Spain into the beautiful order and structure of the Netherlands. I am home! At least that's what I thought, but this home was only for a moment, because saying goodbye was soon around the corner. Although I have been saying goodbye since last year, yet it hurt to say goodbye to the people I love. But luckily they understand that this is my dream, one with great courage and a broken voice they said: “live your dream and continue to inspire us so that we also live our own dreams.”

When we arrived in the Netherlands we had no trouble doing everything in 5th gear, and that's a good thing because we had to arrange a lot for our world adventure that started last Monday. On the day of the Chinese New Year of all days, We couldn't have chosen a better day. The Chinese Year of the Monkey can be very auspicious if I can believe the stars. This year it's all about curiosity, pleasure, opportunities and flexibility. And these are precisely the things we want and that may await us. And to stay in the Chinese corner, I actively started learning their language, a challenge that has been on my bucket list for a long time and that has only been made bigger by a Chinese friend I met in Madrid. My language successes are very small, but I am very proud that I have already achieved this 10 can count and know the days of the week and the months of the year :).

To take you along in my adventure, a glimpse into the start of our world trip.

XOXO from New Zealand.
