CHRISTCHURCH RE STARTS

Christchurch re-starts and therefore to explore the well 24 hour, provided you know what you want to do and where to go. To help you get started I have one ABC of this city. From Aactivities you can undertake, from Bth place to relax and Cathedral square.

Many tourists ignore this city, due to the many construction pits, which is of course a shame. Christchurch is waiting to be rediscovered!

Activities

♡ An afternoon of shopping at the Re:start mall. A colorful mall made of containers with many boutiques, cozy coffee bars and various eateries from Mexican to Vietnamese.

♡ Take the Historic Tram for a ride along the highlights of Christchurch $20 p.p

♡ Free walking tour for those who prefer to explore the city on foot, this is offered by volunteers. Brochure is available at the information office in town. Based on a voluntary contribution.

♡ Take a canoe for a romantic trip on the Avon river $21 p.p.

♡ Visit The Airforce Museum and take on the role of a pilot behind the wheel of The Mosquito. Visiting the museum is free, of the simulator $5 p.p. and donations are greatly appreciated.

♡ A day at the beach is also possible, you can get there by bus 20 min in Sumner. Metro card $ 10 p.p. only interesting if you want to spend several days in Christchurch and you don't have a rental car yet.

♡ Visit The Canterbury Museum to experience a piece of Maori culture. Free entrance.

♡ Lunch in one of the cozy restaurants on New Regent Street.

Best tip from the locals

According to the locals, the best place to relax is without a doubt The Botanic Gardens. You can enjoy a lovely walk here, you can plop down on a beanbag while enjoying a cup of coffee. This is the best place to unwind after an almost overnight flight 24 hour.

Cathedral square

The core of the city, Here you will meet many locals but also tourists who come to see how the cathedral was damaged by the earthquake 2011. Cathedral Square is a cozy square with stalls and special art.
